Regarding Amazon's deletion of author-on-author reviews, I suppose that they are trying to neutralize back scratching and back stabbing so as to protect their customers from skewed opinion. However, this is very wrong on at least two counts. Authors aren't necessarily dishonest and customers aren't necessarily gullible. Might it not be better to simply label the reviewer as a writer than to indict him or her? Better yet, have that label link to a writer/reviewer's Amazon profile if they have one.
