1. “Almost One-Third Of Internet Users Plan To Buy A Kindle” (by Matt Rosoff, Silicon Alley Insider)

A whopping 28% of Internet users surveyed by J.P. Morgan in December say they either own a Kindle or plan to buy one in the next year.

The Kindle is already Amazon’s top-selling product, with an estimated more than 5 million sold since August, and with that kind of buyer intent, the e-reader will continue to be a hot item in 2011.

The survey also bolsters the claim of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos that iPad owners are buying Kindles: 40% of iPad users surveyed already own one, and 23% plan to buy one in the next year. According to J.P. Morgan analyst Imran Khan, the big price difference between the two devices–$139 for the low-end Kindle versus $499 for the cheapest iPad–really places them in different categories.

  1. Wow. According to this same survey, 40% of Ipad owners surveyed ALREADY own a Kindle.

The only way that’s possible is if literally every Kindle ever made was sold to an Ipad owner. Also, the average Ipad owner has two or three Ipads.

But, sarcasm aside. That’s a whole lotta overlap.
