w/r/t kindle updates, it’s completely reasonable that amazon’s unexpected price drop on the kindle and the (well-documented) surge in demand exhausted a supply chain that hadn’t been fully prepped

Kindle just reported financial results today, I’m looking for Amazon to drop K3 any day now. My best guess; no color but includes apps. Barnes and Noble responds by going live with Pubit, possibly same day.
Should be an exciting week.

It’s likely that Amazon’s foray into chain retail stores and then recent Kindle price drop was a calculated move to clear the decks of Kindle 2, then unleash Kindle 3.
