The Gadgeteer reviews the Aluratek Libre – a great low priced unit

By Paul Biba

aluratek-libre-1-300x230.jpgJulie at The Gadgeteer has a review of the Aluratek Libre ebook reader. Julie has owned bot a Kindle and a Nook, so she has some basis for comparison.

On the whole she liked the unit, but felt that the software could still use some work (not an uncommon complaint regarding ebook readers in general). She says that the Libre does not use an e-ink display and it’s like reading on her old Palm V. Despite this, she says that the battery life is excellent.

  1. Same hardware as the JetBook. I wonder if the software is the same or not.
