Hey there, I'm Spencer. I work for a company named Syncables, and after reading through this, I think you might want to check us out. We make a localized syncing software that I've found makes a great offline compliment to dropbox and sugarsync. Our client is cross-platform, and it lets you keep your files, contacts and email synced between your computers over your home or office network, which is great for when you can't get an internet connection but still need to transfer things between your machines. Additionally, Syncables includes a media component, which allows you to upload your media to any phone or usb drive.

Check us out sometime at www.syncables.com!

I love Dropbox! I have put almost my ENTIRE ebook library there, instantly accessible in the "cloud." Correction: the maximum free storage Dropbox lets you have is 5.25 GB, which I have from referring enough people.

Dropbox is incredibly easy to use. Very self-explanatory and automatic.

I don't find Dropbox abnormally slow at all, for documents and ebook files. It usually just takes a few seconds to sync, or for really big files, 1-2 minutes.

A site like Dropbox is SugarSync (same idea, with some slightly different features). Here's SugarSync's feature comparision with 4 other sites, including Dropbox:

Also like Dropbox is Microsoft Live Mesh, which starts you off with 5 GB free storage already!

DropBox is fantastic for syncing between multiple computers. I was just using gmail to keep my writing docs backed up (I never have gotten into google docs), but DropBox is by far and away superior. You only get 2 GB of storage for free but if you're only syncing documents that is far more than you'll ever need, unless you are really really prolific.
