UK Publishers Association issues 3,000 piracy notices

pa_logo.gifThat’s notices of copyright infringement issued in the first year of the program. They have set up a portal to ease the issuance of notices and there are now 51 companies using it, including some outside the UK. Responses to the notices vary, said the Association, with Scribd generating the most notices, but being the most compliant, and RapidShare generating the second most notices, but being the least compliant.

The Association plant to set up the program next year and introduce a piracy detection tool in April. More details here.
