People who are really focussed on getting a Nook particularly will probably grumble but wait. People (in the US--different availability in different countries obviously changes the game) who really want an e-book reader for Christmas and don't care too much which one will probably get a Kindle or a Sony. Personally if I were buying a reader for someone else, I have to admit that a promissory note for a Nook wouldn't have the same Christmassy glitter under the tree as a reader that is actually, you know, *there*.
