Maya Reynolds on lessons for New York publishers

By Paul Biba

images.jpegMaya has a number of lessons that New York publishers must learn in the ebook area. Drawing on Kassia Krozser’s earlier post here she elucidates:

Don’t look to traditional publishers to lead the way to the future;

Publishers need to start listening to their customers;

The digital marketplace won’t conform to their business as usual;

Stop focusing on Amazon’s $9.99 price for ebooks

The details are worth reading.

  1. A good article, the upshot of which seems to be: Don’t look to the past, look to the future to build the e-book industry. I wholeheartedly agree, especially in terms of publishers, which are as traditional as you can get without a prescription…
