Most of the difficulties hampering the growth of the e-book industry, IMO, boil down to this.  There is a distinctive lack of effort being applied to thinking &quot;outside the box&quot; regarding e-books, and every effort made to squeeze square pegs into round holes.

Tradition is a powerful thing, precisely because people favor the predictable, the understandable, the comfortable... tradition is all of those things.  Perhaps we need more Swifts, to clearly show us how absurdly some of our traditions are hampering our development, like a grown man refusing to give up his tricycle for a car.</description>
