More info on Discovery ereader patent

By Paul Biba

images.jpegPreviously we had reported that Discovery Communications sued Amazon for infringing on their patents related to ereader security. Now we learn a little more about the patent, itself. According to the Baltimore Sun the patent includes a unit that would provide for e-commerce and could access an online catalog and receive samples of products for purchase. All of these might very well be infringed by Amazon, Sony and maybe others. It also raises the question of whether Discovery (owner of the Discovery Channel) is planning to produce its own units. Time will tell.
