		<description>Overall, well-put.  It&#039;s interesting that Osnos didn&#039;t even mention DRM, not as a bone of contention, a tool to be honed or discarded, or a factor in the development of e-books.  But then, he&#039;s not a bookseller, so the issues of theft and loss may not be high on his list of priorities.  (Maybe if he had lost his Kindle copies of &lt;em&gt;Animal Farm&lt;/em&gt; and &lt;em&gt;1984&lt;/em&gt;, he&#039;d have devoted more thought to the subject...)

One thing I found funny is singling out Amazon, B&amp;N, Google and Apple, and calling the market &quot;crowded.&quot;  Like others, recognizes recent publicized efforts, but he doesn&#039;t seem to recognize the potential of the myriad of existing non-dedicated devices to be part of the e-book&#039;s future.  To his credit, though, he does note that a standardized format is key to that future.</description>
