It's kind of silly to make a big deal about the relative popularity of Barnes & Noble shopping app, which lets you buy actual stuff like books, CDs and DVDs that are shipped to your house, versus ereader apps, which are for reading electronic books. I was a little puzzled that the shopping app was even in the books section of the App store. Amazon also has a shopping app but it's in the lifestyle category. I think all this means is that a shopping app is more popular than ebook reading apps.

Has B&N said much about developing another ereader beyond the one they just bought? Kind of surprised they haven't re-branded it yet. Maybe that is a sign they are planning an additional app.
