Flawed Record? Were you there sir? why would you want to read a flawed record anyway? Papers Past has been a great source for much of my research. Through my state and National Library I can also freely access the London Times back to 1789. Many countries I have found are not so generous. Try getting free newsprint in Ireland.

This is sweet, they have a text search but still preserve images of all the pages. I wonder if someone could create a reasonably fast search engine that would OCR text on the fly. Now that would be a useful Free Software project.

This sort of thing should be required of all newspapers by all governments in all places. We have a right to our history and a right to read this flawed record of the past.
