I'm reasonably happy with LIT rendering on my Hanlin V3-based BeBook and, while it would be nice to have dictionary support, it is quite stable as long as you don't feed it LITs created by ReaderWorks. Dunno why but it really really prefers Ms Word-created Lits. Anyway, while more ebook readers can only be a good thing, looking at all the mutant variants being pre-announced, I have to wonder how many will actually get to market and how long they'll endure if they get that far; it reminds me of the DAP market circa 1998... A fair question, Mr Cane. :-)
