On Park Slope streets - and yes, it's harmless (to others) if you look up periodically. A bigger danger than walking into people is tripping on uneven sidewalks. I haven't gone splat yet; I'm sure I will at some point. But whatever I'm reading will probably have been worth it. I read while walking, too!!!
