Many of the earphones that come with MP3 players I can't use, and so I have to buy alternatives immediately. I use them a lot and on average they last about four months. Luckily they are generic, thay cost about $5, and the only custom piece I need is a 3.5 mm to 2.5 mm converter. If they were Apple earphones I'd be broke within a year.
