Right now the Canadian dollar is such that buying e-books from the likes of O'Reilly and Pragmatic Programmers is more expensive than ordering the p-book from Chapters or Amazon. The prices for paper books haven't yet caught up with the fluctuating exchange rate. Certainly this an entirely different situation from free or Shareware fiction purchased in America.
