Legal Issues is comming probably not in the US where theres no antitrust autority but remember that the stated core goal of the EU is to foster efficient competition making it a antitrust autority.

The french antitrust autorities are looking into apple's iTunes right now(and apple have responded by warming up to DRM free content) and if amazon manage to build a kindle that's usable outside of the US(edge is not used outside of the US) they migt find themselves having to defend their DRM against some antitrust legislation.
