I sympathize with the lawsuit. On the other hand, Lightning Source is not such a great option either. It seems they are overly focused on keeping their costs down, and as a result, they haven’t bothered teaching their employees the basics of effective packing.

I’ve received orders shipped in thin cardboard boxes with insufficient protective padding. Of course, the books were damaged in transit. In fact, I haven’t received one order yet that was not mostly damaged.

For authors like me, it’s tempting to believe that LSI can deliver on their promises. But in my case, ordering direct from Lightning Source has proved to be a total waste of time. I can see why Amazon would not want to deal with them.

It’s a shame they didn’t file this last Monday. It would have been so much fun to discuss it at the IDPF conference.

I didn’t bring the POD matter up because it was a over a month old. If they had file last Monday, I would have brought a copy of _Good_Fellas_ to give to the Amazon.com rep.
