Fearful of being put out of work, the Amalgamated Union of Philosophers, Sages, Luminaries and Other Professional Thinking Persons calls for industrial action when a giant new computer called Deep Thought is built. "You'll have a national Philosophers' Strike on your hands." they threaten. "Who will that inconvenience?" inquires Deep Thought mildly. Likewise the novelists' strike. What a pity it's only fiction!
