My sympathy, Joga. Like you, many people bought the PRS-505 while anticipating that Sony would offer ePub importation capabilities. So far, alas, Sony has let us down, and more than a few people are getting grouchy about it. Great to see you're excited about ePub. Hang in there. I'm expecting Sony to come through---event though it's months past the time we anticipated. Thanks. David

[...] Future Sony e-book reader to offer IDPF format and Adobe DRM support?via Digital EditionsSounds like the next version of Sony Reader will support the IDPF open ebook standard. I like reading ebooks from dedicated readers, but I hate the hoops I have to jump through to get them on there. Sounds like a step in the right direction. [...]

now.. if they would give us - who bought the reader - a firmware update... that would be sweet!
Given the fact that their public image is the way it is, this would be a great opportunity! Sony, do you hear me?

Well, you know how much I love DRM. ;-) But as a practical matter, I hate to limit my selection of books.

BTW, for the curious, Robdert and I must have been both thinking simultaneous thoughts about Mobi/Amazon. I made several revision to the post.

Wow, that is great news! I wonder that means though with respect to Sony. (Timeframe, implementation).

Perhaps that will put more pressure for amazon to come out with something fast.

It really brings us back to my previous article DRM Sucks, but can we live without it .
